Qualitative research moderators facilitate discussions to collect detailed and comprehensive data. It's a careful balancing act of seeking deeper understanding while staying neutral and fostering candid and sincere replies.
dQ&A moderators have the skills and expertise to extract top-quality, real-time, valuable insights directly from people living with diabetes and health care providers.
Meet Alice and Sylvie, two of our expert moderators with 25+ years combined experience moderating diabetes, and learn why they believe moderating discussions about diabetes is the best job in the world.
We have enjoyed long and fulfilling careers as qualitative researchers, conducting interviews on a variety of topics and listening to people's stories.
In 2007, Sylvie's son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and in 2015, Alice's son received the same diagnosis. These experiences led us to change our professional paths, shifting from versatile interviewers to moderators who now concentrate solely on diabetes.
We joined a passionate team dedicated to understanding the patient experience in diabetes and advocating for better treatments. Through this journey, we stumbled upon what just might be the best job ever.
Moderating is consistently rewarding—it's incredibly enjoyable and fascinating to listen to people's stories and uncover what drives them. However, interviewing individuals with diabetes takes it to a whole new level.
While laundry detergent might not engage, diabetes certainly does. People with diabetes (PWD) are eager to share their experiences, which helps companies drive innovation in drugs, devices, apps, and services.
Our knowledge of diabetes therapies, realities and terminology allows us to go deep. Ever heard of “naked showers” in the context of diabetes? What about “unicorns”? We have. When participants recognize our profound familiarity with diabetes, we take the session to a whole new level.
We use the latest techniques—videos, apps, texting, real time observation—to capture the most complete picture of what diabetes patients actually experience and feel about their treatments... attaining rich insights.
When diverse groups of individuals share their stories—for example seniors, caregivers, and teenagers—we can pinpoint the commonalities and nuances in the effectiveness of diabetes treatments.
dQ&A moderators have the thorough knowledge, empathy, and compassion to effectively work with a broad range of people and personalities. We bring out the taciturn and subdue the loquacious to get to the heart of things.
We’ve crafted an essential knowledge base. In this era of high innovation—with companies developing ground-breaking drugs and devices—our team has interviewed thousands of people with diabetes and healthcare professionals who support them.
