EASD 2025:
dQ&A Published Research Now Available

The European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) recently concluded in Vienna, marking an exceptional year of innovation and collaboration in diabetes research.

EASD convenes top minds from around the world to set the course for diabetes care. We were proud to showcase our latest findings from the dQ&A team—now available as a downloadable poster.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made EASD 2025 a success—we look forward to connecting again next year.

From Metrics to Behavior:
Regional Variations in Hypoglycemia Impact Among Type 1 Patients Using CGM and AID

What’s the Story?

Our latest study explores the interplay between health metrics and technology use in shaping the burden of hypoglycemia for people with type 1 diabetes across the US and EU.

We observed consistent trends by country in hypoglycemia impact, when analyzing segments by A1c and BMI, while distinct regional variations emerged when examining impact through the lens of patient behaviors in the use of diabetes technology.

Study Findings

While traditional health metrics suggest similar hypoglycemia patterns across regions, differences in how patients engage with technology surface meaningful and nuanced distinctions between populations.

  • In the US, those who consistently tracked their Time-in-Range (TIR) or actively engaged with their AID systems experienced an increased burden from hypoglycemia.

  • In the EU, individuals who frequently monitored their TIR experienced fewer hypoglycemic episodes, while increased interaction with AID systems did not significantly alter hypoglycemia outcomes.
